Video performance made in November 2018 at the Beaux-Arts de Paris.
I baptised myself.
In the murmur of the stones, beneath the open sky of the courtyard,
I gave myself up to the moment.
The waters were waiting for me, still and patient,
a liquid mirror of all my questions,
a trembling reflection of what I am,
of what I am trying to become.
I dance in evanescence,
each gesture a breath,
each fall a release.
And then I fall,
into the cold, welcoming flow of the fountain,
letting myself be submerged by the memory of those who walked here before me,
by the gestures, the colours, the bursts of every work past and still to come.
I baptise myself in the waters of art,
a silent, irresistible ritual,
where the body becomes language,
where the fall becomes radiance,
where the gesture becomes passage.
I rise again transformed,
wet, vibrant, connected.
Every drop is a word, every splash a sentence,
every shiver a truth.
I am baptised.
In the waters of art.
